A successful website has to be equal parts beauty and brains. A visually appealing website will only get so much attention before the interest fades, and the masses move on to something prettier. Add functionality to that same website and you make it interactive, giving your visitors a reason to stick around. The same holds true for the opposite: the coolest features only go so far if the face is mud ugly.
